Wallpaper Installation in Phoenix, Residential and Commercial

Right Choice Painting installs wallpaper throughout Phoenix and the North Valley — residential, commercial, and hospitality. We’re a licensed painting contractor (ROC #317015) who also hangs paper, which matters more than it sounds: most wallpaper installers can’t repair the wall underneath if something’s wrong with it, and we can.

Below is what we cover for residential and commercial jobs, how removal and wall prep work, what a typical install looks like start to finish, and answers to the questions we hear most. Free estimates for any size project.

Residential, Commercial & Hospitality

Residential Wallpaper Installation

We hang wallpaper in powder rooms, dining rooms, feature walls, bedrooms (including ceilings), and stairwells — the spots where wallpaper does the most for a room without redoing the whole space. Arizona’s dry heat is hard on adhesive and seams on exterior-facing walls, especially in a west- or south-facing room; we account for that in how we prep and hang, not just what paper we recommend.

Commercial & Hospitality Wallcovering

We also install commercial-grade wallcovering for hotels, ballrooms and conference space, offices, medical suites, and restaurants — including Type II vinyl and fire-rated materials where code requires it. Hospitality jobs run on tight, phased schedules around occupancy, and we plan around that rather than asking a property to shut down a wing. If you’re also looking at paint for a hotel property, see our hotel painting services.

Materials We Install

Traditional and non-woven papers, grasscloth and other natural fibers, vinyl and commercial Type II, peel-and-stick, and murals or custom prints. Each material installs differently and holds up differently in Arizona’s climate — we’ll tell you plainly what we recommend for your room and what it costs to install relative to the others, before you buy anything.

Wallpaper Removal, Wall Prep & How We Work

Wallpaper Removal and Wall Preparation

Stripping old paper, clearing adhesive residue, skim-coating any damaged drywall, and priming for new paper — this is where most wallpaper problems actually start. A lot of the peeling and bubbling we get called out for traces back to paper that was hung on unprimed drywall by whoever did it last. Because we’re painters first, we can fix the wall we uncover instead of just papering over it again.

How the Job Runs

We measure the space and provide a quote, order the material (lead times vary by manufacturer — we’ll tell you upfront), prep the walls, install, and clean up. Most residential rooms run one to two days depending on size and pattern complexity; commercial and hospitality jobs are scheduled around your occupancy.

What Goes Wrong When Wallpaper Is Hung Badly

Lifted seams, pattern that drifts as it goes up the wall, visible overlaps, bubbling, and paper hung directly over unprimed or damaged drywall — all preventable with the right prep, and all things we see when we’re called in to fix someone else’s install.

Wallpaper Installation FAQs

How much does wallpaper installation cost in Phoenix?
It depends on room size, wall condition, and material — grasscloth and commercial Type II cost more to install than standard non-woven paper. We give a firm quote after seeing the space or your photos, not a phone estimate.

How long does a wallpaper installation take?
Most single rooms take one to two days. Larger residential projects or commercial jobs take longer, and we’ll give you a schedule upfront.

Do you remove old wallpaper?
Yes — removal and wall repair are part of what we quote, not a separate call.

Can you hang wallpaper in a bathroom?
Yes, with the right vinyl or moisture-resistant material and proper prep around humidity and ventilation.

Do you supply the wallpaper, or do I?
Either. We can source and recommend material, or install paper you’ve already bought.

Do you do commercial jobs?
Yes — offices, hotels, restaurants, and other commercial spaces, including work scheduled around business hours or occupancy.
